The Mid-Pacific Owls Robotics program was re-established in June of 2016 at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. The program has grown over the years to provide hands-on STEM experiences to students grades 4 - 12 through participation in various robotics competitions.

FIRST Robotics Competition is a robotics competition for students grades 8 - 12 that are ready to challenge themselves in creating large scaled robots. Students are tasked with designing, building and programming their own custom robots through the use of CAD software, rapid prototyping technologies and shop equipment. Advanced drive systems and control systems are incorporated into this build. The first students from our program participated in this competition in 2017.

FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics competition for students grades 8 - 12. Students are tasked with designing, building and programming their own custom robots through the use of CAD software, rapid prototyping technologies and shop equipment. The first students from our program participated in this competition in 2018.

CREATE Drones is a new drone robotics competition for students grades 7 - 8. Students customize their drones through careful designing using CAD software, 3D printing technologies and shop tools. The first students from our program will participate in this competition in 2016.

VEX Robotics Competition is a robotics competition intended for students grades 8 - 12. Students are tasked with designing, building and programming their own custom robots using preformed VEX parts. The metal structural parts require cutting, drilling and basic machining. This program was part of Owl Robotics up to the 2017 - 2018 season.

VEX IQ is an introductory robotics competition for students grades 4 - 8. Students are tasked with designing, building and programming their own custom robots using preformed VEX IQ parts. The first students from our program participated in this competition in 2016.

I + I Student Challenge is primarily for students grades 9 - 12. However, there are some exceptions made for younger students with a high level of robotics and designing experience. Students are challenged to look at robot designs from the point of view of an architect in order to explore shapes, lighting, ergonomics and aesthetics. Local hardwoods are are utilized for the main structure of the robot which are manipulated, formed and connected together using new as well as  traditional woodworking techniques.
